Research that Makes a Difference

Our faculty and students investigate some of the most pressing issues of our time, including addiction, bullying and identity. Their research is published frequently in leading academic journals and textbooks, and they’re sought frequently for expert analysis. 

Can yoga help children with developmental disabilities feel more at ease in the classroom? A study by GSE researchers looked to study the effects of yoga on self-regulation, our natural ability to manage our behavior and reactions to feelings and sensory experiences. 

College students who engage in activities like internships, study abroad, undergrad research, community service have a better chance at landing jobs after graduation or going to graduate school, according to a recent study by GSE researchers.  

School principals facing pressure to increase test scores prioritized academics at the expense of job skills and personal growth, a UB GSE researcher found—one of few studies that examined the influence of education policies on school principals’ priorities.
