Taking into account that cyberbullying is a problem of social interaction, an ecological approach to the problem is proposed, that includes factors of neighborhood, school, family and individuals. Understanding these factors could lead to coordinated strategies for cyberbullying prevention at each level.

This panel discussion will address the issue of bullying of students with disabilities. A special education and disability rights law attorney, an attorney representing school districts, and a family peer advocate will share their experience and perspectives on how schools can best address these issues and support students and their families.

This seminar is designed for educators, law enforcement, youth professionals, school stakeholders, and family members/guardians who desire a deeper understanding of—and an action plan to deal with—the perils of social media and technology use confronting our youth today.

The ultimate goal of anti-bullying researchers and practitioners is using knowledge on bullying and its underlying mechanisms to further reduce bullying substantially.
