Seguros en Confianza - Goal is to educate about bullying, cyberbullying and related topics

Colloquium Date: February 11, 2025

This research evaluated the knowledge and skills of teachers from kindergarten to eighth grade in Puerto Rico regarding bullying. It compared their responses to the Olweus Anti-Bullying Program Guide and other proven programs, and identified limitations in teacher training. The findings suggest the need for a new curriculum or program to effectively address bullying, particularly in light of international changes in perspectives from UNESCO and WABF. The study used a comparative quantitative approach with 412 teachers within the public education system. Key deficiencies were found, such as 50% lacking skills to address cyberbullying. The study also revealed a lack of awareness about the vulnerability of LGBTQ+ students and challenges in applying effective anti-bullying strategies.
