The Office of Research at the Graduate School of Education supports faculty through every phase of their research, from identifying grant sources to post-award support. Established in August 2022, the office focuses on grants-funded research, offering one-on-one mentoring and grantsmanship development. Dedicated to empowering faculty, the office assists with procurement, funding, compliance and more, ensuring that the innovative spirit of faculty members is fully expressed and enabling groundbreaking research that drives transformative advancements in education.
Research staff provides pre-award and post-award support, as well as grantsmanship development and mentoring.
Pre-award support encompasses the guidance and assistance offered prior to receiving a grant, including help with proposal development, budget preparation, application review and ensuring compliance with both the funding agency's requirements and institutional policies, to increase the likelihood of funding success.

You don’t have to start from scratch when it comes to developing your research proposal. GSE faculty can use our internal library of sample grants, tools, templates and funding sources. GSE offers a Research Resource Library for faculty and staff, providing access to shared research tools, a list of relevant funders and due dates, successful grant proposals, proposal section templates and recordings of internal grant workshops. This library supports research development with comprehensive resources and guidance for grant writing and research project planning.
UB provides comprehensive support for researchers, including help with funding, grant proposals, award administration, research commercialization, and compliance. They offer specialized services for clinical and behavioral research, as well as resources for safeguarding assets, IT support, training, development, and access to facilities and equipment.
