Sofie Scaletta, a first-year student in the counseling psychology PhD program, is from Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated summa cum laude from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. Her undergraduate capstone explored the impact of mindful self-care on levels of compassion fatigue, secondary traumatic stress, burnout and compassion satisfaction among mental health professionals. Sofie's qualifying paper will examine hands-on assists in trauma-informed yoga instruction.
