Courses for Non-UB Students

Are you looking to take a class or two but not ready to enroll full-time in a degree program? Non-degree courses are a great way for you to earn credit and experience in the classroom. Non-degree study is possible within our four departments and many of the courses are available online.

Benefits of Non-Degree Study

You can take courses with the Graduate School of Education even if you’re not pursuing a degree. Non-degree, or non-matriculated, study is a great way to:

collaborate with our faculty and graduate students
conduct research
earn credit toward a future degree
experience college-level learning environments
improve your skills or train for employment through professional development
prepare for college-level or graduate study

Application Fees Are Non-Refundable

Course offerings are subject to change without notice. Please contact the department before registering for a course to be sure the course is available and will run, to avoid losing application fees. Our departments reserve the right to drop a non-matriculated student registered for a course if the spot is needed for a matriculated student in a program. You may choose to seek non-matriculated enrollment in a different course if availability exists.

You will use the undergraduate form to register for courses numbered 100 to 499.

Complete an undergraduate non-matriculated student form. Once enrollment is confirmed for the term, a non-refundable non-degree processing fee of $25 will be applied to your account prior to the next billing statement.
Wait for review: Once your application is submitted, your application will be reviewed by the UB Registrar’s office.
Enroll: If you are granted non-matriculated status, you may then enroll in classes through the HUB Student Center.
