Dr. Margaret Sallee in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy seeks a graduate research assistant for a grant-funded project investigating the experiences of student-mothers at six 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities across New York State. The graduate assistant will assist Dr. Sallee and her co-PI with all aspects of data collection and analysis, including participant recruitment, conducting interviews and data analysis, and, if desired, writing up and presenting research findings. The position may include some travel within the state.
This 12-month position will begin August 1, 2022 and end July 31, 2023. The research assistant will work, on average, 20 hours per week. The position comes with a monthly stipend of $2,210 plus 3 credits of tuition per semester.
The successful candidate will be enrolled in a doctoral program, have some experience with qualitative research, and, ideally, have some background or interest in the challenges that student-mothers or other minoritized populations face accessing higher education.
