A flagship university, UB was elected as a member of the Association of American Universities, which now comprises 65 research universities that continually advance society through education, research and discovery.
The Buffalo News referred to our UB Teacher Residency Program as the “future of teacher education” for a reason. GSE’s academic programs offer immersive experiences, innovative coursework and excellent instruction with a curriculum that addresses diversity, equity and inclusion. Our four departments offer over 70 program opportunities resulting in advanced certificates, master’s and doctoral degrees, and more.

At UB, you will not only become part of a community but also be encouraged to work in service of surrounding communities. Whether through the Teacher Residency Program, Brainy Bulls K-12 tutoring, or coursework like "Literacy, Access, and Equity: Embracing Diversity to Enrich Our Community," we prioritize community engagement.
If you want to be the best, you have to learn from the best. Our distinguished faculty researchers, thought leaders and innovators came to Buffalo from around the world to mentor and teach students like you how to make the world a better place.
Our faculty pride themselves in applying knowledge that is based in theory and informed by research done in environments that promote examination of issues across boundaries. The experiences of our faculty help to instill an intellectual curiosity in students like you and encourage critical inquiry.
As someone juggling competing priorities, you might decide an online program is right for you. At GSE, you’ll find engaging and rigorous online coursework supported by cutting-edge technology.
