Harassment, Cyberbullying, Bullying and Discrimination in Schools: Prevention and Intervention
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) requires that all students applying for certification as of December 31, 2013 have 6 hours of coursework or training on the social patterns of harassment, bullying and discrimination. As mandated by NYSED, this training consists of 6 total hours of training divided into Part One and Part Two. The University at Buffalo Alberti Center for Bullying Abuse Prevention is an approved provider of this training.
Part Two of this training took place in-person, on our campus, prior to COVID-19. This portion will now take place online as per accommodations made by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Participants will log into a "live" zoom session with our instructor based on the date and time they register for. Part One of the training, which is self-paced and asynchronous, must be completed prior to joining the Part Two session.
The dates and times below represent Part Two of the DASA training workshop. You will log into a "live" zoom session with our instructor on the date and time you register for. There will be a maximum of 20 registrants allowed for each date. You will receive access to Part One as soon as you register and can complete that portion of the training at your own pace. You must complete Part One successfully, with a score of at least 80% on each of the four quizzes, prior to receiving the zoom link for Part Two.
Cost: $75
Registration deadline: Registration for each session will close at least one week prior to the deadline or when the course capacity has been reached.
Cancellations must be received within 24-hours and prior to beginning the online training in order to be eligible for a refund.
