NYSED DASA Training

Harassment, Cyberbullying, Bullying and Discrimination in Schools: Prevention and Intervention

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) requires that all students applying for certification as of December 31, 2013 have 6 hours of coursework or training on the social patterns of harassment, bullying and discrimination. As mandated by NYSED, this training consists of 6 total hours of training divided into Part One and Part Two. The University at Buffalo Alberti Center for Bullying Abuse Prevention is an approved provider of this training.

COVID-19 Information Related to DASA Training Workshops

Part Two of this training took place in-person, on our campus, prior to COVID-19. This portion will now take place online as per accommodations made by the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Participants will log into a "live" zoom session with our instructor based on the date and time they register for. Part One of the training, which is self-paced and asynchronous, must be completed prior to joining the Part Two session.

  2. Online session (Part One): Complete Part One (3 hours) of the 6-hour online training first. Part One does not need to be completed in one sitting and can occur at your own pace.
  3. Online session (Part Two):  Once you have successfully completed Part One, you will receive an email within 1-2 business days with the zoom link for Part Two. On the date and time that you registered for, you will use the link to log into the "live" session for Part Two.
  4. Certificate of completion: Upon successful completion of Parts One and Two, you will receive a certificate of completion attached to the end of the evaluation. This is the ONLY document that you will receive for your records.
  5. After our instructor determines that you have satisfactorily completed the course, The New York State Education Department (NYSED) will receive notification that you have completed the course, and the training will appear under the "Workshops" section of your TEACH account by the end of the month you have completed the training in.

Upcoming Training Sessions

The dates and times below represent Part Two of the DASA training workshop. You will log into a "live" zoom session with our instructor on the date and time you register for (the May 2022 sessions will be in-person). There will be a maximum of 20 registrants allowed for each date. You will receive access to Part One as soon as you register and can complete that portion of the training at your own pace.
