What is our study?

The purpose of our study is to better understand how teenagers are using media use, their positive and negative experiences with media, and specific skills that help to promote positive online experiences.

What does study participation look like?

Teenagers will complete an online survey which will take about 25 minutes to complete. They can complete the survey at a time and location that is most convenient for them.

Will you get paid for participating in the study?

Yes! Participants who complete the survey will receive a $10 gift card. They can choose from Amazon, Target, Walmart, Starbucks, PlayStation, Roblox, or Xbox.

Who is eligible to participate?

Teenagers ages 13 years to 17 years with parent consent are eligible to participate. Teenagers must be able to read and speak fluent English and live in the United States. They also must have a device to complete the online survey, such as a computer, tablet or smartphone.

How can you or your child participate?

All teenagers who are eligible and interested in participating need to have parental consent.

  • Parents: Please reach out to Stephanie Fredrick at ssfredri@buffalo.edu to complete a consent form.

Who can you contact with questions?

Please contact Stephanie Fredrick, associate director of the Alberti Center for Bullying Abuse Prevention, at ssfredri@buffalo.edu or 716-645-1141.
