Adolescents who are bullied by their peers experience heightened risk for a range of mental and physical health problems. In order to develop interventions that effectively reduce the plight of victimized youth, it is critical to identify why, and under what conditions, peer victimization undermines adolescents’ health. This presentation will highlight findings from our ongoing program of research examining mechanisms that link peer victimization to poor health as well as contextual risk and protective factors that shape the adjustment of bullied youth.
