Summary Faculty Mentor

Jessica Selleck is a second-year PhD student in foreign and second language education and currently works as a Buffalo Public Schools K-12 ENL educator. As a PhD candidate, Selleck is interested in pursuing research at the intersections of social-emotional competencies, identity, relationship and teacher education. She believes there is a link between many of the societal inequities and our current institutions and that through enhanced teacher education and collaboration with local organizations dynamic solutions can be found. Selleck also holds a Master of Science in adolescent urban education from Canisius College, a Master of Arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages from Minnesota State University-Mankato, and a Bachelor of Arts from Emory University in English and South Asian studies. She also enjoys her role as a foster parent, reading and traveling when she gets a chance.
