Computer Science Education Programs

Initial Initial / Professional Professional Additional Cert. in CS

Our initial/professional certificate track combines initial and professional certification and requires fewer credit hours than completing the programs separately. This track is typically completed in two years of full-time coursework. The second year is a residency in which teacher candidates are placed in classrooms under the supervision of a cooperating teacher.

  • 1 academic year (fall/spring) of student teaching
  • Additional clinical hours may be required prior to student teaching residency, based on academic program and opportunities for specific students
