Share Your News

If you are a Graduate School of Education student, faculty member, staff member or alumnus, we encourage you to share your news.

Getting Started

To proactively explore story ideas, read our brainstorming tips to get started.

Submit Your News

Send us news about community engagement/impact activities, research projects, article or book publications, students doing interesting work, alumni with unique backgrounds who are making an impact in their fields, and more.

Grant News

Help us highlight your success, or help us highlight the success of your student researcher. By announcing grants, we are able to publicize the many well-funded studies being conducted at our school and to highlight the accomplishments of individual investigators.

Faculty: Update Your Annual Report First

Before you contact us, please update your annual report by listing your new grant in your faculty profile. This must be updated before we can publicize your award.

Honors and Awards

Our faculty, students and alumni win awards and receive other types of recognition all the time. Help us publicize these honors within our school and beyond.

Faculty: Update Your Annual Report First

Before you contact us, please update your annual report by listing your honor or award in your faculty profile. This must be updated before we can publicize your award.

Media Mentions

Let us know when your work gets local or national news coverage. Have you, your work, department or division, program or other efforts been mentioned recently in the media? If so, please submit the mention for consideration for “In The Media” on the school’s website. Not all submissions will be published.

Media mentions appropriate for our school’s website must:

  • include your title or role in your department or division and the name of the university or school
  • build your research, clinical and/or teaching reputation and your department’s or the school’s reputation
  • not require registration or fees to access

How News Distribution Works

If we determine that the idea is newsworthy, we will either:

  • write a story and publish it on our school website
  • forward your information to writers in UB’s Office of Media Relations because they have determined that it should be distributed to a larger audience (i.e., local, national or international media outlets)
    • Media Relations will follow up with you to write a story and post it on their website. Our office will then republish it on our school’s website and social media channels, where appropriate.
