Summary Faculty Mentor

My research explores the relationships between art production, mindfulness-based stress reduction practices, self-compassionate interventions and psychological distress. I am interested in cognitive behavioral therapies, art-based expressive therapies, mindfulness practice and self-compassion in the service of depression, anxiety, grief management, trauma (particularly racial trauma) and PTSD. I actively work to render evidence-based, culturally sensitive counseling, viewed through a social justice and ethical lens, and I am vested in working with a diverse population that includes historically marginalized and underserved demographics.
