Make History Come Alive

The UB Teach social studies education program is a five-year accelerated combined degree, offering a bachelor's in anthropology and a master's in social studies education. It provides expertise in anthropology and prepares you to teach social studies for grades 5-12. You'll study in both the Department of Anthropology and the Department of Learning and Instruction.

Enrolled students will:

  1. Pursue their passion for anthropology while developing essential skills for their future.
  2. Unlock the past to better understand the world around them. Engage in intensive clinical education with diverse Western New York schools.
  3. Develop expertise and confidence through evidence-based practice and co-teaching in a one-year residency.
  4. Gaining a deep understanding of human studies and effective social studies teaching methods.
