I am motivated to study sociocultural factors, such as media, someone's ecology (e.g. a coach), environments (e.g. schools), fashion campaigns, and the rise in weight loss drugs, on body image and eating disorders. I have a particular interest in athletes and adolescents from historically marginalized groups. In my past research I have focused on the difference in risk factors for developing eating disorders in college athletes participating in objective scoring sports versus subjective scoring sports.
