Summary Faculty Mentor

Rebecca Ann Bridgeman is a final-year PhD student in the Department of Learning and Instruction. Her overarching research interests surround social media use and the effects on employee well-being and mental health in a remote work environment, employee wellness assistance and support, workplace preparation for young adults, and the mental well-being and needs of students transitioning from college graduates to working professionals. Her current qualitative research seeks to better understand employee mental well-being, specifically how young adults, ages 18-25, are affected by using social media platforms as a means of communication in a remote workplace setting due to the recent global shift to a primarily remote work environment, driven by the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

Rebecca holds an MS in business education from Buffalo State College, and a BA in Communication and Public Relations from University at Buffalo. She is also a certified Human Resource Professional, PHR.  She spent nearly 15 years in a corporate business environment working for a Fortune 100 company, the global technology leader in distribution, working in sales, marketing, learning and development, and human resource management. Rebecca loves to entertain friends and family, travel globally, spend time near water and chase sunshine.
