Michelle Connolly’s interests involve improving teaching and learning, particularly in higher education, with a focus on inclusive practices in online learning. More specifically, using intentional practices that are inclusive of those with high impact (dis)abilities such as high functioning autism, ADHD, and other learning disabilities. Having spent 15 years as an online college instructor, it was a visually impaired online student who served as catalyst for her to understand the science behind learning. She has been able to transfer these skills as a Digital Learning Designer here at UB, as a member of the UB Learns team, where she helps faculty improve their practice of teaching through the use of pedagogically appropriate methods using the LMS. On a personal note, Michelle is a married mother of four children with different needs and abilities including autism, ADHD, food allergies and intolerances. She also loves to cook and bake both for fun and necessity.
