Literacy Coaching Micro-Credential

Our literacy coaching micro-credential program provides academic coursework and a specialized practicum to prepare literacy professionals in education with the knowledge and skills to perform the role of an elementary or secondary literacy coach. Current UB students and non-UB students are eligible to apply.

Our program consists of four courses designed to support you as you:

  • develop and apply foundational knowledge of literacy, diversity and equity to design, implement and evaluate literacy curriculum and instruction
  • develop knowledge of literacy assessment and evaluation
  • demonstrate the ability to support classroom teachers through professional learning, leadership and coaching to meet the literacy needs of students and design learning environments
