Leadership; Organizational Studies; Educational Change; District Governance; History of Education
My research examines school leadership, particularly the role of the principal, and how districts manage accountability and inclusion during periods of political and social change. I use theories of educational and organizational change to analyze how school leaders perform the work of leading organizations and serving the community. I focus on how organizations, ideologies and social sensemaking shape and constrain the power of the principalship. I have published in the Journal of School Leadership and Frontiers in Education.
