This page will help you learn about GSE’s technology in Foster Hall and Kimball Hall conference rooms.

These are the commonly used terms to refer to the functionality we now have in all the conference rooms. They will be used throughout these instructions.
For more detailed controls, touch the “PTZ Camera” button on the left side to access the Camera Controls:
1. Plug AirMedia adapter into any available USB-C port on your computer.
2. Click to “Allow” the device to connect to your computer.
3. Choose how you want to use the room screen: “Entire Screen” (mirror laptop), “Window or App,” or “Extended Display” (2nd screen).
4. Click “Start Mirroring.”
5. Click the Apple Menu, then System Settings.
6. Click “Sound” on the left side menu.
7. Choose “Crestron AirMedia (USB)” as the output device and input device. Close System Settings.
8. You are now connected to the room screen, speakers, camera and microphone.
9. In Zoom (or Teams or Panopto), make sure to select “Crestron AirMedia” as both your Speaker and Microphone.
10. Make sure your camera is set to “Crestron AirMedia Camera.”
11. Adjust the microphone volume using the “Mic Level” controls (lower-right of the touch panel) and the controls on your computer.
12. To disconnect, click the Screen Mirroring icon on the menu bar, then click the clock and click “Stop Mirroring.”
13. Touch the “System Shutdown” button on the touch panel to turn off the room tech.
14. IMPORTANT: When you’re done, unplug the AirMedia adapter from your computer and leave it in the wall holder in the conference room.
1. Plug AirMedia adapter into any available USB-C port on your computer.
2. Click into the “Search” field on the Windows taskbar (or in the Start menu) and type “sound mixer.” Click on the “Sound mixer options” button in the search results.
3. Choose “Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Crestron AirMedia)” from the “Output device” and “Input device” dropdown menus.
4. Adjust the room volume using the “Speaker Level” controls on the upper-right side of the touch panel as well as the level control on your computer.
5. You are now connected to the room screen, speakers, camera and microphone.
6. In Zoom (or Teams or Panopto), make sure to select “Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Crestron AirMedia)” as both your Speaker and Microphone.
7. Make sure your camera is set to “Crestron AirMedia Camera.”
8. Adjust the microphone volume using the “Mic Level” controls (lower right on the touch panel) and the controls on your computer.
9. Touch the “System Shutdown” button on the touch panel to turn off the room tech.
10. IMPORTANT: When you’re done, unplug the AirMedia adapter from your computer and leave it in the wall holder in the conference room.
1. Touch the “Start Conference Room” button on the panel to turn on the room system.
2. Choose the Floorbox or Wallplate by touching the appropriate “Source” button on the left side of the wall panel.
3. Plug the HDMI cable for Presentation and USB for Conferencing (if needed) into the appropriate jacks on either the Floorbox or Wallplate, depending on your source selection.
4. Connect the other end of the cable(s) to the HDMI port and USB-C port (if needed) on your computer.
5. When you plug in the HDMI cable, the Mac’s Screen Mirroring will be triggered and it will pop up a screen to ask you to choose how you want to use the room screen: “Entire Screen” (mirror laptop), “Window or App,” or “Extended Display” (2nd screen). Click on the option you want.
6. Click “Start Mirroring.”
7. Click to “Allow” the device to connect to your computer.
8. Click the Apple Menu, then System Settings.
9. Click “Sound” on the left side menu.
10. Choose the room speakers as the output device and the room microphone as the input device. See Device Names table for the names of the devices for each room (names will be different from screenshots). Close System Settings.

6. To use the room screen as an “Extended screen” instead:
a. Right-click anywhere on your desktop, then click “Display settings.”
b. In the Display settings window, click “Duplicate these displays,” then select "Extend these displays.”
c. Click to “Keep Changes.”
d. To display content on the room screen, drag the window off to the right on your laptop.
7. Click into the “Search” field on the Windows taskbar (or in the Start menu) and type “sound mixer.” Click on the “Sound mixer options” button in the search results.

There are four primary types of tech-enabled rooms in Foster Hall:
Private Rooms: B15A, B15B, B19 and B20; Private Offices: 107, 110, 118, 121 and 122
1. Make sure the screen is on AirMedia.
2. Launch “Crestron AirMedia” app from your Applications folder.
First-Time Use Only: Click “Options” Menu > Settings, then click on “Auto Discovery On” to turn it off. Click back to the main Crestron AirMedia window.
3. Enter the IP address shown on the screen into the “Enter receiver’s address” field (e.g., 10.14.35.235) and hit Enter on your keyboard or click on the up-arrow icon to the right.
4. The app will ask for a code. This code will pop up on the room screen. Enter it into the app.
5. Click the Screen Mirroring icon on the Mac menu bar, then click on the room screen (e.g., edu1-av-crestron-153-am-3100wf). “153” is the room number in that name. Each room uses the same naming convention. This name will also appear on the room screen in the section labeled “Screen Mirroring.”
6. You will be prompted to enter the code again and it will again appear on the room screen. Enter the code.
7. The first time you connect, you will be prompted to choose how you want to use the room screen: “Entire Screen” (mirror laptop), “Window or App,” or “Extended Display” (use as second screen).
8. Click “Start Mirroring.”
9. Click the Apple Menu, then System Settings.
10. Click “Sound” on the left side menu.
11. Choose “Crestron AirMedia” (USB) as the output device.
12. Close System Settings.
13. You are now connected to the “Presentation” functions in the room. Video and audio from your computer will be seen and heard in the room. If you selected “Extended Display,” drag over any apps you want to appear in the room to the room screen.
14. Adjust the room volume using the level control on your computer.
15. To disconnect, click the Screen Mirroring icon on the menu bar again, then click the “Stop Mirroring” button.
1. Make sure the screen is on AirMedia.
2. Launch “Crestron AirMedia” app from your Start Menu.
First-Time Use Only: Click “Options” Menu > Settings, then click on the “Auto Discovery” toggle to turn it off. Click the back arrow icon to return to the main Crestron AirMedia window.
3. Enter the IP address shown on the screen into the “Enter receiver’s address” field (e.g., 10.14.35.235) and hit Enter on your keyboard.
4. The app will ask for a code. This code will pop up on the room screen. Enter it in and click “Connect.”
5. You are now connected to the room’s Presentation functions. The default is to mirror your laptop screen.
6. To use the room screen as an “Extended” screen instead:
In the Crestron AirMedia app, click the “Screen Sharing” dropdown menu, then click on “AirMedia Virtual Screen.”
7. To display content on the room screen, drag the window off to the right on your laptop.
8. Click into the “Search” field on the Windows taskbar (or the Start menu) and type “sound mixer.” Click on the “Sound mixer options” button in the search results.
9. Choose “Speakers (Crestron AirMedia Audio)” from the “Output device” dropdown menu.
10. Adjust the room volume using the level control on your computer.
11. Video and audio from your computer will be seen and heard in the room.
12. To disconnect from the system, click the “Disconnect” button in the AirMedia app.
