Dr. Conrad F. Toepfer, Jr. Mentorship Award

The Dr. Conrad F. Toepfer, Jr. Mentorship Award was established in honor of the late Dr. Conrad F. Toepfer, Jr., an educator who has been widely recognized and remembered for his exceptional role in mentoring students and colleagues.

Description

To provide an annual award to a current or emeritus faculty member or student demonstrating an extraordinary dedication to professional mentorship.

Professional mentoring may include but is not limited to: 

  • Promoting and making others aware of the contributions and value of their mentees 
  • Encouraging and including mentees in networking activities with other professionals 
  • Helping others seek career opportunities
  • Providing resources in support of others' success 
  • Placing an equal or greater emphasis on the professional development of their mentees than on self-promotion or advancement

Eligibility

Must be a GSE current or emeritus faculty member or a GSE student.

Nominations

Nominations must be submitted by GSE faculty, staff, students or Alum. Nominators must submit a brief statement explaining why they are nominating a person and how the nominee meets the criteria of the award.
