Summary Faculty Mentor

I am an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher with over 16 years of experience teaching English across several countries. I hold a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics/TEFL from Damascus University, as well as an Ed.M. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University at Buffalo. I currently work closely with refugee and immigrant students in ESL programs, applying my teaching expertise to support their language learning and academic success. I bring a global perspective to language education and aim to create inclusive, learner-centered environments that celebrate cultural diversity and empower learners. Alongside my teaching and research, I have also worked as a certified translator, deepening my understanding of cross-cultural communication and multilingual literacy. These experiences continue to shape my doctoral research in Language Education and Multilingualism, where I explore innovative ways to enhance English language learning through technology and inclusive pedagogy.
