John Slaughter is a doctoral student in the EPQM program. He has over 25 years of experience in research design, program evaluation, assessment, test development and learning management systems. He is currently employed as the senior manager of public assistance development programs and technical services at the Learning, Engagement and Development Services (LEADS) where he manages grant-funded projects with the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) totaling over $3.2 million.

John previously served as the director of research and evaluation at LEADS where he oversaw the evaluation of state and federal grant-funded projects. His current research interests include the intersection of race and gender and the disparate administration of exclusionary school discipline. He plans to adopt survival analysis to explore the relationships between exclusionary school discipline, college admission, contact with the criminal justice system, and life outcomes, while considering the timing and occurrences of events.
