BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo Graduate School of Education’s redesigned website, ed.buffalo.edu, has been honored with a Web Excellence Award in the Education category by the Web Excellence Awards (WE-Awards), a global recognition program that celebrates outstanding achievement in web design and digital creativity.

The Web Excellence Awards, known internationally for raising standards in digital innovation and creativity, evaluate submissions from around the world based on rigorous criteria including innovation and creativity, functionality and usability, content and overall user experience, visual design and aesthetics, technical quality and performance, and the overall experience and impact of the site. Winners are selected by a panel of industry professionals committed to honoring excellence across the digital landscape.

The Graduate School of Education’s website redesign — developed in partnership with strategic digital agency SimpsonScarborough — was recognized for its human-centered design approach that places clarity, storytelling, and engagement at the forefront of the online experience. By streamlining the site’s information architecture, eliminating low-value content, and crafting intuitive navigation tailored to prospective students, the redesign delivers a clear, inviting, and highly functional digital portal that reflects the school’s mission and advances its recruitment goals.
