Personal Summary Faculty Mentor

Analū Kame'eiāmoku Josephides, MLIS, earned a master's in library and information Science with the University of Hawaii at Mānoa (UHM). His research focused on multiculturalism and Indigenous librarianship with an emphasis on access and retrieval for native Hawaiian  communities and bridging user gaps in libraries. He earned a BA in Hawaiian studies at UHM-Center for Hawaiian Studies, where his research and coursework focused primarily on early civilization leading up to the Constitutional Monarchy of the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1840. Analū is currently a tenured Professor of Reference and Instruction with El Camino College in Los Angeles, California. He serves as the Vice President of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion for his institutions Academic Senate. He is a Genealogist whose research and instruction supports native Hawaiian indiviudals and families in documenting blood quantum, securing land and housing, educational scholarships, and has worked with PBS-New York to document internationally recognized celebreties in the series Finding Your Roots. His research focus is investigating the development of an indigenous information literacy framework to support students attending a 2-year institution of higher learning.
