The task force exemplifies effective collaboration and community engagement, utilizing multidisciplinary expertise and strategic partnerships to promote educational equity across Western New York. The taskforce is co-convened by the Buffalo Equity Coalition, UB's Graduate School of Education and the Urban Think Tank.

The task force leverages collective resources to implement data-driven solutions, removing barriers to educational equity and creating sustainable opportunities for students and families.

To establish an educational system in Western New York where all community members are accountable and empowered to ensure students meet high academic standards and are affirmed socially, culturally, and emotionally.

Meetings
The task force meets year-round on the first Wednesday of every month from 2-3:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 701 E. Delavan Ave.
Accomplishments
Three-Tiered Bell Schedule: Successfully advocated for a staggered start time system, effectively resolving a three-year transportation crisis in Buffalo.
Support and Advocacy for Brainy Bulls Tutoring/Mentoring Program: Championed a program providing tutoring, academic support, and guidance to students in grades 5th – 12th grade, delivered by students from the University of Buffalo.
Igniting Equity in Education Annual Conference: Established an annual conference that amplifies student voices and fosters collaboration among educators, policymakers, and community members to promote educational equity.
