Instructional Support and Tools

Conferencing Tools

UB has options to meet your conferencing needs. Conference calls can be held using the your UB phone (limited to 6 people, including the call initiator), and Cisco Webex is a web conferencing tool that enables fully interactive video and audio connections with people locally and around the world.

GSE Faculty Technology Lab – Baldy 521

At our Faculty Technology Lab, you can get help with questions like:

  • How do I upload a document to UBlearns?
  • How do I change something in PowerPoint?
  • How do I convert my media to a digital streaming format for web hosting?

You can visit the lab to use a scanner, make a printout, use a Mac or PC, access audio or video recording equipment, or get instruction on utilizing technology or software.

Survey Tool

GSE maintains an online survey tool using the SelectSurvey.Net software for all GSE faculty and staff. We also allow GSE student organizations and GSE-affiliated projects or groups to use the tool as well. This tool supports an unlimited number of surveys, responses and survey creation accounts.

Technical Support

GSE IT Staff

Our IT staff supports the technical aspects of GSE projects and programs. We provide:

  • Network Support — file sharing, network printing and back-up services
  • User Support — hardware and software support for both Windows and Mac
  • Specialized Design/Programming Support — web, graphics
  • Equipment Loan — digital cameras, camcorders and laptops are available for faculty use on a temporary basis
