The UB Teach Latin Education program is an accelerated, combined degree program where you can earn a classics BA and a Latin education EdM in five years. This program provides content in the classics while preparing you to teach Latin for grades 5-12. You'll study in the Department of Classics and the Department of Learning and Instruction.

Students enrolled in this program will:

  • Explore the legacy of the Greek and Roman world and its impact on modern culture.
  • Study the essential elements of classics, including Latin, Greek and Roman history, art, archaeology, and culture.
  • Engage in intensive clinical education with Western New York schools, experiencing diverse teaching environments.
  • Develop skills and confidence to apply evidence-based practices in the classroom through a one-year residency, co-teaching with an expert teacher.
