Embrace the Elegance of French

The UB Teach French education program is an accelerated, combined degree program where you can earn a French BA and a French education EdM in just five years. This program provides content expertise in French while preparing you to teach French for grades 7-12 with a grades 1 to 6 extension. You'll study in both the Department of Romance Languages and the Department of Learning and Instruction.

Students enrolled in this program will:

  • Develop language competence and communicative strategies for cross-cultural, global interactions.
  • Enhance research and analytical skills to locate, interpret sources and produce original research.
  • Participate in intensive clinical education experiences with Western New York schools, learning the nuances of the teaching profession.
  • Gain skills, expertise and confidence to implement evidence-based practice in the classroom and co-teach with an expert teacher in a one-year residency.
