Sign Up for Homework Help

UB's Graduate School of Education is working to connect UB students with students in high school (Grades 9–12) who need homework help in English, math, science and social studies.

Homework help is available Mondays through Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m. Students may sign up for up to three hours per week  (i.e., one subject for three hours or three subjects for one hour each). Please sign up for the upcoming week prior to noon on Sunday. Appointments are currently available Sept. 27 through Dec. 9. Recurring appointments are available.

What students and parents/guardians can expect during the session:

  • A one-hour session with a homework helper (a UB student supervised by graduate students) to prompt and support students in completing specific tasks
  • Homework Helpers will complete the feedback form after each session

What parents/guardians need to do:

  • Ensure your child is in attendance
  • Ensure that your child has specific assignments and all materials necessary to complete the assignment (e.g., textbook, calculator, laptop, pen/pencil, paper)
  • Check to confirm that the instructions for the assignment are clear; keep in mind that Homework Helpers are not necessarily content area experts

What students need to do:

  • Arrive on time
  • Bring assignments and materials necessary to complete them
  • Work with homework helpers during the session
  • Complete the feedback form after each session
