Licensure and Accreditation

Licensure

The University at Buffalo Early Childhood Research Center (ECRC), NYS License #676462, is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (NYS OCFS). 

Accreditation

The ECRC is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation’s leading organization for early childhood program standards.

Screening and Reporting

All ECRC staff members are screened under NYS OCFS requirements and the University at Buffalo Child Protection Policy. Individuals who have direct contact with children must submit documentation to the New York State Central Registry of Child Abuse and Maltreatment for clearance. All employees are mandated reporters of suspected child abuse or neglect and are required to follow state reporting procedures.

Health and Safety Certifications

All full-time staff hold CPR and First Aid certifications, and many part-time staff maintain these credentials as well.

In addition, several staff members are MAT (Medical Administration Training) Trained.
