Combined Speech and Hearing, BA / Early Childhood–Childhood Education, EdM

The UB Teach Speech and Hearing/Early Childhood–Childhood (ECC) program is an accelerated, combined degree program that allows you to earn a speech and hearing BA and an early childhood/childhood education EdM within five years. It provides you with content expertise in speech and hearing while preparing you to teach children from birth through grade 6.

In this combined program, students study in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences as well as the Department of Learning and Instruction in the Graduate School of Education. While in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences, you benefit from a dedicated focus on the core of knowledge regarding normal processes of speech, language, and hearing; in the Department of Learning and Instruction, you will learn how to bring classroom lessons to life for children from birth to grade 6.
