A pandemic plus a UB Bulls football season postponed until November adds up to a year without Homecoming, right? Wrong! The show must go on, and “Homecoming at Home” is how it will be accomplished in the year of COVID-19.

Featuring a robust lineup of live online events, interactive activities, prerecorded sessions, on-demand content and more, Homecoming at Home will take place Oct. 5-10.

“We thought it was important to retain this UB tradition, even if it had to be virtual,” says Cynthia Khoo-Robinson, associate vice president for alumni engagement and annual giving. “And, Homecoming has always been about offering many different ways to engage alumni, so this year going virtual is a great way for us to showcase events beyond football.”

Faculty, staff, students, alumni and parents are welcome to take part in virtual campus tours, art exhibits and interactive games, as well as real-time events featuring alumni and friends. Events that require registration are online now on the Homecoming at Home website, in addition to a number of virtual events.

The website will be continuously updated as more events are added, Khoo-Robinson says. “Anyone who wants the latest updates on the schedule should sign up using the form on the home page of the website,” she says.

“Homecoming at Home is a safe way to have fun and show off your UB pride, and we’re really excited to be able to continue the tradition.”
